Pregnancy Planet’s Writer’s Guidelines

Columns, Word Counts and Pay Rates:

Personal Essays (800 – 1,000 Words): $50 USD
How To Articles (1,500 - 2,000 Words): $75 USD
Feature Interviews (up to 3,000 Words): $100 USD
Feature Articles (up to 3,000 Words): $150 USD

Compensation:

Pregnancy Planet will pay you upon publication by PayPal, or check. When your submission is published, you will receive a “live link” email notification. When you receive the notice, please reply to the email with an invoice that includes your social security number and payment preferences.

*Note: if you opt for payment by check, please understand that it may take up to 2 weeks after publication for you to receive your payment. If you opt for PayPal payment, you will be paid within 2 days of publication.

Rights:

We do not accept reprints. If you would like to repurpose a previously published article, please notify us at the time of your submission and include the proposed changes that will make it specifically suited to Pregnancy Planet’s requirements. Acceptance is not guaranteed and is up to the discretion of the editors.

We require First Electronic Rights and the right to archive the article indefinitely. After one month from the date of publication, rights revert back to the author. Although we support you in republishing your article in other online and print publications, we request that you not syndicate your article on sites that provide free content.

By submitting your work to Pregnancy Planet, you are agreeing to these rights and terms.

How to Submit:

Email your submissions to pregnancyplanet@lycos.com. Please do not email your stories in file attachments which have not been virus-checked. Word or Text files are acceptable, and must be PC format. Also, you may copy and paste your text in the body of your email.

When appropriate, please include an author biography, and include your photo, preferably a clear head-shot, no larger than 250x250 pixels saved at 72dpi. Also, include copyright and book ordering information, if appropriate.

*Note: Articles which primarily market your books, services or events will not be published. However, you may briefly mention these items in your biography and/or include a web site link for more information.
