My daughter's birthday isn't until October, but I've already started wondering in the back of my head how I want to celebrate. Any great ideas out there? I'd love a cute cupcake idea - my cousin did monkey cupcakes for her little boy!

One Year Birthday - how do you plan to celebrate?
- Message
Just make sure you get lots of pictures of a cake covered face! Those are priceless years later.
ladybugs?! Lol. Im doing pink and brown themed with pearls. I still have to look for stuff!
Ladybugs sound cute! Except for the red frosting everywhere
When is your little girl's birthday?
My baby's turning 1 on November. I don't have a birthday party theme yet as well, so maybe I can also get ideas from here. Glad you opened this topic.
Oh and you have a little girl also! We'll have to brainstorm some great ideas...
You have to purchase costly cuke and also your friends then celebrate one big party.
You will purchase costly gift to your chid and pray for your child.
I doubt we'll spend a lot of money on a cake/gifts, that's not our style! I want to have a lot of friends over, but we're going to request no gifts.
My son's 1st birthday is this month, August 26th. I was kind of depressed about the whole party thing because we live in southern Germany, and my parents and in laws live in the states. We also don't have any friends her where we live so I was starting to get the feeling we'd be having at three person party, which isn't that big of a deal I guess. I just wanted to have more family ther to celebrate. Luckily though, my husband had a class pop up that he has to attend in Belgium (my son and I usually tag along) and the travel time just happens to coincide with the weekend before his b-day. My mom's side of the family lives up near Frankfurt, Germany, (which is alon the way) so now we're going to crash there for the weekend and they'll be throwing a big party for him (they're real party people). So now I feel so much better because I really wanted the day to be memorable. German's don't do "american" style birthday cakes, so there will be tons of german cakes there for everybody else. And for my son, I'm going to bake a regular birthday cake (I'm trying to make one or two cube cakes to decorate as toy blocks. These will be strickly for him to do his face plant in and get all messy with. There's no real theme. Just lots of blue, lots of fun, and lots of family. I'll be taking tons of pictures.
First birthdays are truly special. The little ones don't really care but it is such a wonderful moment for the Moms (and Dads, of course). And remember, this is the only children's birthday party that you can plan completely according to your own taste (no purple dinos here if you don't care for them). So grab that chance and plan the party you have always dreamed of.
I definitely want to have a great big cookout since the weather should be nice! I'm really looking forward to it....and hope to get lots of pictures as well! Now if I can just figure out what kind of cupcakes to make...I'm sure she'll make a royal mess out of whatever we give her!
I think the messy part is what it's all about. That's why my son will have his own cake, unless any one wants to share in his mess, but I doubt it will be all that apetizing after he's done with it. It does seem kind of like a waste though. I don't bake often so this will be a big task for me to get the cake just the way I want it, only for him to completely destroy it. I know my family will be looking at me as if I had lost my mind (this isn't exactly a tradition of theirs) but it will be so much fun anyway. And as for my beautiful work of art (wishful thinking
), I'll just have to get plently of pictures before I let him have at it, and druing and after of course.
I found this really great website the other day, www.cakecentral.com. There are plenty of recipes, but what I really love are the pictures of all those amazing cakes. Take a look and maybe there is something to inspire you too.

The initiative taken for the concern is very serious and needs an attention of everyone. This is the concern which exists in the society and needs to be eliminated from the society as soon as possible.
